Teyjin

Clear complexion is a must in achieving any makeup look. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed to have clear complexion. I'm one of those persons since I recently got chicken pox and I'm still in the process of getting my perfect skin back. Although my face is filled with scars, I still managed to achieve a glass-skin look through cosmetic hacks. Oh and btw, here are things that I'm currently using for my scars.

I got a green color corrector since it corrects red spots and brown spots for light skin. Honestly I was supposed to get an orange corrector. Good thing the salesman suggested that I should get a green corrector since my skin is on the light side.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

L.A. Girl's HD Pro Concealer is crease-resistant with opaque coverage in a creamy, yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes.

GC990 - Orange Corrector: Neutralizes dark spots for medium/deep skin tones.
GC991 - Yellow Corrector: Neutralizes purple/blue undertones.
GC992 - Green Corrector: Neutralizes redness.
GC993 - Lavender Corrector: Neutralizes unwanted yellow undertones and sallowness.
GC994 - Peach Corrector: A lighter version of our popular Orange Corrector -conceals blue/purple undertones on fair skin tones and counteracts general dullness.
GC995 - Light Yellow Corrector: Corrects dullness caused by blue undertones and brightens under eye circles.
GC996 - Highlighter: A delicate, pearlescent finish that illuminates your face with a beautiful glow.

*Apply correctors under regular concealer to create a perfectly even complexion. Complete makeup routine by applying the Highlighter as the last step after foundation.

THE REVIEW

PACKAGING
The product comes in a 8g squeeze tube with a brush as its applicator. It's easy to control the amount of product for smooth application. The brush is similar to a paint brush but it's smooth and it helps blend the product on your skin especially on small areas.

I covered my scars with the brush applicator alone and it was all hassle-free

PRICE
PHP 315 in SM Department Store

CONSISTENCY & TEXTURE
It is a liquid concealer that isn't too thin or too thick-- just right. I blended the product using a beauty blender for perfect application. It is quite pigmented which served its purpose in color correcting the skin

After blending the green color corrector on my scars, I topped it off with a concealer in my skin's shade. I was honestly afraid that my face will turn green upon topping it off with a beige concealer. But to my surprise, it sticked to my skin covering all my imperfections. So it's a huge YAY for the product texture.

This is my skin after topping it off with a concealer. I swear that my skin looked that great using only the green color corrector and a beige concealer. Aside from the skin products, I applied light eyeshadow and lip tint.

LONGEVITY
I honestly fell asleep with makeup on considering that I took these photos in the afternoon. The morning I woke up, my brown scars were barely visible (but you can see skin-tone scars). Unlike the night that I applied it where you really can't see a scar. There were no green patches or what-nots which means the product blended well with the concealer.

SUMMARY
PROS
  • The product comes with an easy applicator brush
  • It is pigmented but not to the point where you look strange from the green color.
  • It sticks well on skin and blends well with beige concealer.
  • It lasts long. Specifically for 15 hours
  • lt covers scars well
CONS
  • It is quite pricey (PHP 315) for a 8g concealer
  • The brush somehow absorbs the product and it's quite unhygienic if you don't wash it often

THE VERDICT
For a small tube, it truly served its purpose it concealing. I do not mind the price since the concealer reached beyond my expectations. This product proved that clear complexion can still be achieved even with scars underneath.

Effective ba? --YES it is very effective.

Here's a before and after photo:

Clear skin is one of the indicators of health and beauty. Being a beauty-concious woman, I've been obsessing over maintaining my clear skin and improving its appearance through makeup.

Unfortunately, I recently caught chickenpox from my sister which caused scars all over my face and body. It's a nightmare come true, I know. But instead of feeling bad for myself, I'd rather take action in fixing my scars and concealing it. I work a job where I have to face hundreds of people daily so looking presentable is a must!

It's actually payday today which means I can allocate part of my income for a little haul. I headed straight to SM's Department Store to get all that I need. I got 7 items that I really need and want.

1. BIO-OIL/ 60ml- PHP 495 / SM Department Store

Bio-oil is a specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, ageing skin, and dehydrated skin.

I recently read good reviews on this product so I decided to try it myself.  It sounds like the perfect product for me since I'm trying to remove scars and at the same time, avoiding stretch marks. I'm currently preggo at 17 weeks as of today with my first child. As much as possible, I still want my tummy to look firm with minimal stretch marks.

2. FASHION21 SPF50+ LOOSE POWDER/ PHP 185/ SM DEPARTMENT STORE

Before I got this, I only used pressed powder in setting my makeup which sometimes end up cakey if I don't apply it well. Now that I'm out of pressed powder, I finally got myself a jar of loose powder that would set my makeup well without caking too much.

3. ETUDE HOUSE PRECIOUS MINERAL BB CREAM/ P 748/ Etude House

I've been using Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream since high school. I try different brands but this product is the best one for my skin. If ever I run low, I would run to the nearest store to restock.

4. NICHIDO #233 EYE SHADER BRUSH/ PHP 150/ SM DEPARTMENT STORE

What's a wide makeup palette without good tools. Looking back last year, I had a complete set of brushes but I misplaced them one by one. It's about time I move on with a good brush and take care of it this time.

5. Pinkies Collections Shine Loose Powder/ PHP 299/ SM Department Store

I have a thing for highlighters. In every store that I go, I barely find a good highlighter (other than Sleek and MAC.) I was just browsing the shelves then I found this. It's actually as good as highlighter but it's a loose type of makeup. I'm still in love with it though and I can't wait to use it and achieve the glass-skin type of makeup.

6. L.A. GIRL PRO CONCEAL GREEN CORRECTOR/ PHP 315/ SM DEPARTMENT STORE

I was supposed to get the orange concealer for my scars that I went to three Watson's branches in the city but it was out of the stock and one saleslady told me that they ran out of stock in the warehouse as well. So I ended up getting the green one. Although it was a hard decision for me, I tried covering a scar with the green corrector and it works as well. So no biggie.

7. EVER BILENA BLEND ME SPONGE/ PHP 135/ SM DEPARTMENT STORE

I needed a tool to perfectly cover up my small scars all over the face. So I got a blender as well.

Although I already got what I wanted, I still have a hunch that I need more skincare products. My inner shoppaholic is tempting me but my good thrifty side is behaving. It's good that I still have control over buying things that I only need.

Korean skincare products are known for its high standards. No wonder Koreans have such porcelain skin. I'm actually a huge fan of Korean skincare since it helps me achieve the perfect porcelain skin. So as I was browsing through Watson's isles, I found Seoul White Korea Double Whitening Soap and got a twin pack worth P65 just to try it.

In the packaging: Discover a new level of healthy white that touchably-soft with SEOUL WHITE WHITENING SOAP. With white strawberry infused with whitening kojic berry. Moisturizing creamy lather draws out dirt and pollution, and gently exfoliates. Helps lighten skin, dark spots, and acne marks, while leaving skin touchably soft.

Direction: Use daily on face and body. For even better results, use with Seoul White Instant White tone-up whitening milky cream.

The Review

I used the soap for a month. The twin pack lasted for almost 2 weeks so I ended up buying again to test its effectivity. Also, I used it along with Seoul White Instant White tone-up whitening milky cream for maximum results.

Packaging
The box is really appealing that it caught my attention at the shelf. The soap was smartly wrapped; where it is well-wrapped but you can easily unwrap it by pulling a portion.

Price
In Watson's- PHP60 for 90g/ PHP65 for 60g Double Pack/ PHP125 for 90g Triple Pack

Scent
It's very similar to the scent of Nestle Strawberry Yogurt.

Texture
Produces moderate foam and is smooth on skin. It does not easily melt

Effect on Skin
It's not drying compared to most whitening soaps I've tried. It actually leaves my skin very smooth even though the micropeeling is somehow visible. It gives my skin a little glow or the brightening effect. And yes, it is effective in whitening since I noticed that I'm a bit fairer even though I'm moderately out in the sun

Summary:
Pros
  • Not harsh on skin
  • Effective in whitening
  • Smells great
  • Very affordable
  • Does not melt fast in water
Cons
  • It takes weeks before you see significant results
The Verdict

Seoul White Korea Double White Whitening Soap passed the standards of exceptional Korean skincare. It's effective in whitening without drying the skin and it leaves the skin with a glowing effect. I believe that Kutis Koreana can truly be achieved with further use of this product.

One of my principles in life is that it’s fine to spend as long as it’s an investment. Taking care of yourself is an investment. Skin care is an investment. Therefore, it’s totally fine to spend for good skin care & beauty products.
I’ve been raving about Korean products here and there. And I felt ecstatic when I discovered about Althea Korea.
Althea Korea is South East Asia’s largest online Korean beauty store that sells 100% authentic Korean beauty products at the lowest prices. For us, Philippine residents, we can shop at ph.althea.kr
It’s my second time ordering a box and I’ve always been so satisfied (shoutout to my boyfie for getting me this box for my birthday.) Althea claims that orders are shipped straight from Korea and will arrive around 10-15 days. I got my first package after 12 days on my first order, while I got my 2nd package at exactly 10 days.
It’s definitely true that you can get products at the lowest price in Althea. The Get Ready With Me Box contains products worth P4,972 but the beauty box is only sold for P1,316.
For one, all products are IN FULL SIZE (yes, no trial size in this package.) Another point is that all products are in good condition. I definitely assure that it’s not the surplus that needs to be taken away. Lastly, the packaging is great! It’s secured in a bubble wrap and upon opening the products, there was really no scratches, cracks or dents.
This beauty box was to good to be true that I’m way too fortunate to have one.
Althea’s Get Ready With Me Box contains the following:
  1. Beuins: Honey Scrub Mask
  2. Aritaum: Real Pure Peeling Booster
  3. Whamisa: Organic Flower Toner Original
  4. Tonymoly: BCDation Moisture Cover Cushion- Warm Beige
  5. Abbamart: Eyes on me Eyeshadow- Cinnamon
  6. Colornique: Blush- Peach Pink
  7. Etude House: Dear Darling Water Gel Tint- Chilly Red

I’ve been using these products and I just feel so fresh and pretty everyday. I’ll be doing a review of the products soon so stay tuned! xo

Tomorrow, I’ll be turning 20 and I can`t help but to reflect on my teenage years. Oh those good youthful years I spent living without regrets; living AS IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW.
I remember when I was 15, I made a decision to do whatever I wanted because there’s so much room for good days and making mistakes. If only my fifteen year old self can see me, she would be so proud and pained. Proud that I was able to live, and pained for all the consequences I had to face.
I made a million questionable decisions that I cannot even answer myself, but those silly decisions I made as teen meld me to who I am right now– strong, wise, carefree, and confidently beautiful.
I’ll be turning 20 and I would constantly live as if there is no tomorrow, but this time, I’ll live with better judgment. I may not be the wisest person you’ll ever meet, but I would love to share you 20 things my deviant teenage life taught me.

Changing hair color has always felt like a fresh makeover. In my case, I used to be addicted to dying my hair. But now I've gone from blonde to black, I wanted to achieve that ultra jet black tone. I was only browsing Watson's shelves filled with brown-blonde shades, then suddenly, a black hair dye caught my attention. And the interesting part--- it's a permanent hair dye shampoo.

I even double checked the label that says "Permanent." A hair dye shampoo means that I won't suffer from hair dye fumes and dry hair. Visualizing the benefits it can do to my hair felt like a win-win situation. So I immediately bought it for less than P50. Out of my excitement, I immediately tried the product the next day.

We're only a few days away from April and you know what April means here in the Philippines-- SUMMER! Picture this: you being away from the city, cold breeze tickles your face, the sun warming your skin, unwinding in the ocean, looking hot in the perfect swimwear... but wait, what is the perfect swimwear?

Living in the mountains of a tropical area means having the privilege of enjoying a sunny but cool climate. I live in Baguio City. You know a Baguio person with just the way they dress with an outfit flexible for any type of weather.

In my case, I wore a sleeveless chiffon blouse underneath a nude coat. I guess I utilized my outfit since I wore this on the day I went out with close friends from afternoon till night. I get to chill around on the warm afternoon with a light chiffon top, and enjoy the breeze on the cold night with my coat. I'm all about monochromes and I think I won't ever move on with my style.

We've all seen Kylie Jenner flaunting her brown lips while looking flawless on the runway. Earth tones has been a cosmetic winner. Everyone is going crazy for this trend since it's different and it gives a whole new personality to someone's look. What I love about the medium brown shade is that it matches a wide variety of skin tones. It gives a look not so strong, yet not so pale. Just balanced.

Here are eleven lippies that match every skin tone

I barely obsess over things, but when I do, I overly obsess. Here are my current favorites for the month of February:
1. Christian Siriano Axiom Buckle Flats
I’ve been planning to buy dressy flats since December 2016. But because I’m a wise spender, I always prolong spending. I was with my best friend when I saw this pair and I fell in love with it. It took me 30 minutes to decide in buying it. My best friend even convinced me that buying it wouldn’t count as an impulse buy, rather, an investment. I think she’s right, I’m utilizing it pretty well since it looks nice in both casual and corporate attires.
2. Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub
I’m not a fan of lip scrubs but this lip scrub was THE BOMB. This product is the reason why I scrub my lips now. It’s just so easy to use. You only scrub it on your lips directly, lick off the excess (it’s vegan and it’s sweet,) and you get pinkish lips. No need for lip tint.
3. Kylie Kristen Lip Kit
I honestly do not like nude and pink shades. I just feel less pretty on those shades. It’s the first time that I fell in love with a pinkish nude shade. I guess it’s just a matter of finding the perfect shade for my skin tone.
4. Urban Flora by Alina Baraz and Galimatias
This album is my go-to playlist. Every single song is just so sexy, chill and smooth. If you’re into underground, chill, pseudo-EDM music, YOU BETTER LISTEN TO THIS. It’s like my soul all in one album.
5. MAC Masterclass Oval 6 Brush
It blends makeup really well. I swear any makeup application with this brush will look natural and on point. Best one I had so far.
6. Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy
To every busy gal who can’t go to a nail salon because of a tight schedule, this one’s for you. It’s easy to apply, the polish is really thick, it dries up quickly, it stays for a long time, you save up cash (costs only 375 php per bottle compared to 500 php PER APPLICATION in nail salons,) and you end up with a flaunt-worthy gel-polished nails. Absolutely a win-win situation.

Like my favorites? Are some of my favorites, your favorites too? Or do you have better favorites? Feel free to comment below.

Many people have been asking what I use to maintain a fresh look. I'm the type of girl who prefers dewy skin over matte skin, light ombre lips over thick bold lips, and long thick lashes over natural-looking lashes. If you found out that we have the same preferences, hit that "read more" button and allow me to unleash my cosmetic secrets.

This is how I normally do my makeup on a daily basis:

Last semester was the worst I had since I took a full load of 29 units, almost all my nine subjects had heavy requirements, and 3 of my subjects were hard Math and analytic subjects. My family was a little bit disappointed since they were really expecting a lot from me. I didn't mean to disappoint them, but college can be really hard sometimes. I got very grades on 70% of my subjects and fair grades on 30% of them. It's not that bad, but being judged by well-educated and smart parents feels really bad so I created my resolution

Before starting my short resolution, I want to share what I wore on the first day of short term. I pulled an all-black outfit with gold details because the black game is forever strong!

Being eighteen years old marks the start of legality, maturity, womanhood, and independence. Looking back, I was a happy-go-lucky teenager who barely care about the world. Young, fearless and reckless are the perfect words that described me as a growing teen. I did a lot of crazy, bad, and happy things, but those bad days were the best memories I had because it helped me grow to maturity. I can't even believe that I'm in a legal age already as if it was just yesterday when I first wore makeup, bought a pair of skinny jeans, lost a 20 pounds, and topped my high school class. But now, I have 2 years left in my teenage stage and it's a must that I make the best out of it, but this time. Young, fearless and reckless but with responsibility is my new identity.

After my Statistics exam, which I finished in just one hour (thanks to my natural display calculator), Gerald and I went shopping for something to wear on my 18th birthday. We shopped at Porta Vaga around 10 a.m. There were only few people that time since it's still early, it's a weekday and it's a class hour for most college students which made walking around hassle free!

The Xhiliration leggings and Merona bag are actually sent by my very loving grandmom from California. My grandmom knows me so well that she got the items that I wanted without even asking her to buy me things. I got excited in pairing these up for an outfit so I did! The leggings are really comfy because it's a cotton-based spandex and it also fits right!
